Miss Almaty-2014 Regina Vandysheva has become Miss Kazakhstan-2014, Tengrinews reports.

The Miss Kazakhstan-2014 final took place on November 28 at the Republic Palace in Almaty. 33 beauties from all over Kazakhstan competed for the Miss Kazakhstan crown.

This year, the jury panel was made of Kazakhstan's four-time world champion in weightligting and two-time Olympic champion Ilya Ilyin, Kazakhstan’s popular singers Luina, Ali Okapov, Marat Orazgalin and Miss Almaty-2010 and Second Vice Miss Kazakhstan-2010 Saltanat Bekzhigitova.

At the nationwide beauty pageant the contestants had different tasks. Firstly, they had to present themselves and defile in national costumes. After these two stages, the juries selected 20 girls.

Then, during the second part of the final, the girls had to defile in cocktail dresses and evening gowns. Thereafter, the juries selected five finalists: Miss Almaty-2014 Regina Vandysheva, Miss Astana-2014 Asiya Abisova, Miss Pavlodar-2014 Amina Kozhanova, First Vice Miss Almaty-2014 Gulmira Abeldinova and Third Vice Miss Astana Aidana Kulshymanova.

Then three finalists were selected by the jury: Regina Vandysheva, Amina Kozhanova, Aidana Kulshymanova.

At this point, the work of the jury was finished, and it was up to the people of Kazakhstan to choose the most beautiful girl of their country out of the three.

As a result of SMS and online voting, Regina Vandysheva became Miss Kazakhstan-2014 with 5,518 votes followed by Amina Kozhanova with 5,143 votes and Aidana Kulshymanova with 1,219 votes.

“I am proud of my girl, of her right approach to life. She does sports and do not go to any parties or nightclubs. She was moving towards her goal even in sports. She had a dream to reach her goals on her own without anyone’s support. She is very purposeful,” the mother of the winner Irina Vandysheva said.

Regina is a master of sport in athletics and a prizewinner of Kazakhstan’s athletics championships.

This year the winner received a cash prize of 1 million tenge. When asked how she would use the money, Regina said: “I will give half of it to my agency, and the other half to my mother, so that she can pay off her debt and rejoice that her daughter has succeeded.” When speaking about winning Miss Kazakhstan, Regina said that nothing was impossible in this life.
