Seven thousand militarymen will take part in May 7 military parade this year in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan Defense Ministry. On May 7, 2013, Kazakhstan army divisions will demonstrate their tactical skills and practical use of modern armament and vehicles of Kazakhstan’s Ground Forces and Air Defense Forces at the polygon of Guard post. Simultaneously ships of Kazakhstan Navy will perform a weapons training that will be broadcasted in a video conference. The parade will also involve over 400 units of armored vehicles and cars and 86 planes and helicopters. The response team of the Defense Ministry has left Astana for Otar military base to prepare for the parade. The group is led by Major General Mukan Dyussekeyev, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Military vehicles and personnel are currently flocking to the military base. Tank and motorized rifle troops have already arrived to Otar. Navy soldiers are also expected to arrive from Aktau shortly, as well as the intelligence division of West regional troops. Teams from the aviation part of material-technical supply battalions have already arrived to Otar. A separate camp has been set up for military pilots, where they will live and prepared for flights during the parade.
