Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has cautioned against treating digitalization as a formality, stressing the need for concrete measures rather than rhetoric, Akorda reported.
During a meeting with farmers in the Zerenda district of Akmola Region, Tokayev emphasized that digitalization and artificial intelligence are now indispensable.
“Digitalization is a permanent, long-term issue. In the past, we became carried away with passing themes — clusters, 30 corporate leaders, and others. All of that is behind us. But digitalization and artificial intelligence are permanent factors. Without them, survival in today’s world is impossible, let alone securing a prosperous future for the nation and the younger generation,” Tokayev said.
He underlined that the topic must be addressed seriously.
“Yesterday we held a Security Council meeting where cybersecurity was the main subject, along with the development of AI and digitalization. I am very concerned that this issue might be reduced to empty talk for the sake of reporting. What we need are real mechanisms of digitalization and AI implemented in agriculture,” the President added.
On September 15, Tokayev chaired a Security Council session focused on cybersecurity and protecting Kazakhstan’s digital environment. He recalled that in his recent Address, he tasked the government with turning Kazakhstan into a fully digital nation, a goal requiring comprehensive measures, including stronger cyber defense.
