Microsoft makes its resources available to Kazakhstan students

Microsoft has made its electronic resources available for Kazakhstan students, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President of Microsoft International Jean-Philippe Courtois as saying during signing of an education agreement between Nazarbayev University and Microsoft Corporation. “The signed memorandum is called to continue our support and efforts to help the university attain the highest international level. By signing this memorandum we provide resources that could help improve the university professor’s skills. We are expanding access to Office 365 cloud technologies for all students and professors. It will also be available for many android users,” Jean-Philippe Courtois said. Besides, according to him, the corporation will provide free access to education programs in the framework of the program of electronic education, provide certification courses, 500 different Microsoft sources, educational programs and online books free of charge. Microsoft has trained trained over 16 thousand students, professors and several thousand engineers during the period of the corporation’s operations in Kazakhstan, he added. Deputy Prime-Minister of Kazakhstan Yerbol Orynbayev said that Microsoft was the only company to show interest in participation in the forming of the intellectual-innovative cluster in Kazakhstan. “The concept of the innovative cluster is based on the leading role of the research university that should have a whole belt of scientific-research institutes around it. The cluster has to provide conditions for attraction of global leaders of high technologies, development and implementation of new technologies to Kazakhstan,” Yerbol Orynbayev said.
