Kazakhstan gets access to Japanese technologies database

Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) has given Kazakhstan National Technical Development Agency (NTDA) access to J-STORE database that contains information on results of researches made byuniversities and scientific-research institutes, Japanese patents, technologies and seed stage projects, Tengrinews.kz reports citing NTDA press-service. According to the press-service, the agreement was reached during talks of the National Agency with representatives of JST in Japan. “The access to the database will allow Kazakhstan innovators to obtain information on the newest researches and developments, know-how of Japanese scientists and seed stage projects. For that the innovators can apply to the National Technical Development Agency,” the press-service cited Managing Director of NTDA Zhumatai Salimov. The negotiations in Japan also covered transfer of advanced Japanese technologies and their implementation based on the target technological programs in areas like production automation, energy efficiency and energy saving, nano materials. Involvement of Japanese specialized organizations and preparation for the EXPO-2017 were also discussed at the meetings. The 100% government owned National Technical Development Agency is the successor of the National Innovations Fund. NTDA was formed to support coordination of innovative development processes in Kazakhstan and provide state support.
