Kazakhstan has entered the International Astronomical Union, KazTAG reports according to the press-service of Kazakhstan's National Center for Space Research and Technologies. "Kazakhstan represented by the National Center for Space Research and Technologies has become a member of the IAU," the report said on Friday, August 24. Kazakhstan's delegation was led by the Head of the Center Zhumabek Zhantayev. Kazakhstan entered the International Astronomical Union during the 28th Conference of the IAU that was held in Beijin. More than three thousand astronomers from all parts of the world are participating in the two-week conference. The IAU is the organization that promotes and safeguards the science of astronomy in all its aspects through international cooperation. It was founded in 1919 in Brussels.
