Kazakhstan and Spain now share a military secret

Joint Kazakh-Spanish company will start manufacturing radar equipment in 2011, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Chairman of Kazakhstan Engineering National Company. The agreement between Kazakhstan Engineering National Company and Indra Systems S.A. on cooperation in defense and security was signed on June 17. Chairman of Kazakhstan Engineering Smagulov tagged the joint company's plans a “military secret” and noted that Indra is one of the top world electronic companies. “A joint venture opened today on special assembling of radar systems of the Ministry of Defense and security agencies. A number of projects is planned for Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, KazAtomProm and KazMunaiGas,” Smagulov said and emphasized that manufacturing process will start this year.
