Synchro is working on a brain-computer interface (BCI) to help paralyzed individuals regain their ability to communicate. The ChatGPT feature will allow those who have lost upper limb mobility to interact with the world without using their hands. By interpreting thoughts and impulses from the brain, the neurochip predicts what the person wants to say.
According to the developers, the Synchron BCI implant is placed in a blood vessel on the surface of the cerebral cortex. This allows it to read human intentions and transmit them in a fraction of a second, the company shared.
