Kazakhstan residents will not see the solar eclipse on June 2, Tengrinews.kz reports.

The eclipse will be visible in North China, Eastern Siberia, Russian Far East, Kola Peninsula, Island, Greenland and Canada.

According to chief expert of Fessenkov Astrophysical Institute Lyubov Shestakova, Kazakhstan residents will not be able to witness this event because it will happen late at night. However, two lunar eclipses will be visible in Kazakhstan this year.

“This this the second solar eclipse this year, it will happen at 2.02 a.m. Astana time. Kazakhstan residents will not be able to see it. The total of 6 eclipses will happen this year. Two of them are lunar. They can be watched from Kazakhstan at night of June 16 and December 10,” Shestakova explained.

She also noted that 7 is the maximum number of solar and lunar eclipses that can be seen from the Earth during one year, so this year's six eclipses is close to maximum. There will be four solar and two lunar eclipses in 2011.
