Saudi Arabia Embassy in Astana has simplified visa procedures for Kazakhstan’s pilgrims to sacred places, Tnegrinews.kz reports, citing the Agency for Religion. “The Embassy announced that Hajj and Umrah visas will be issued from February 7, 2012 to August 3, 2012 in Astana on a free of charge basis”, the Agency reported. The Embassy reminded that passports of those applying for a visa should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of submission of the application form. They also should have a vaccination certificate and a return air ticket. “For the 2012 Hajj pilgrims don’t have to submit notarized translations of marriage and birth certificates if they show originals of these documents to the Embassy officials. Marriage certificates issued by mosques are not recognized”, the statement reads.
