Mosques in Atyrau in the West of Kazakhstan are to start broadcasting religious services on Skype, Newskaz.ru reports, citing Ak Zhaiyk newspaper. “The newest IT solution has been implemented by 13 mosques based in Atyrau oblast, with 6 of them being based in Atyrau. Evening namaz prayers will only be broadcasted on weekdays”, the newspaper quoted Amantai Sadiyev, an imam with Imangali mosque. The services will be administered by 4 theologists trained in Lebanon and Egypt. «In Kazakhstan there are 3244 temples, with 2320 of them being mosques. The number meets the domestic demand. 50 mosques are under construction”, Tengrinews.kz reported mid-May 2013, quoting Lama Sharif, Chairman of the Kazakhstan’s Agency for Religions, as saying.
