Yerbolat Dossayev now heads Kazakhstan's Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Tengrinews.kz reports. “Yerbolat Dossayev shall be appointed Minister of Economic Development and Trade,” President’s decree states. Dossayev used to work as chairman of KazInvestBank’s board. He headed the Healthcare Ministry from 2004 to 2006 and used to be Minister of Finance from 2003 to 2004. Yerbolat Dossayev was born in Almaty on May 21, 1970. He graduated from the National Physics and Mathematics Boarding School in 1978 and then graduated from Almaty Energy Institute with a major in Electronic Engineering. In 1997 he worked as deputy chairman of Bank Turn Alem and then chairman of ATF Bank. In 1998 he served as Prime-Minister’s advisor. Starting from July 1998 he worked as Vice-Minister of Energy, Industry and Trade, in February 2000 he was appointed Vice-Minister of Finance. Starting from May 2001 he worked as chairman of Kazakhstan Development Bank. In January 2002 he was appointed chairman of Kazakhstan Agency for Natural Monopolies Regulation, Competition Protection and Support of Small Business. He replaced Bakytzhan Sagintayev as Minister Economic Development and Trade. Bakytzhan Sagintayev was appointed deputy chairman of Nur Otan party on September 24.
