Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has threatened officials with a severe punishment for wasteful spending of state money, Interfax-Kazakhstan writes. “I warn you and all Kazakhstan citizens: you will report for every tenge spent, just like during the crisis years. We will tear off the heads of those who steal this money!” he said at the meeting on development of south Kazakhstan in Zhambyl oblast administration on Friday. "A national commission will be created. The administrations will bear personal responsibility for these five programs: employment, industrialization, business support, housing and public utilities modernization and access to fresh water,” Nazarbayev said. Head of the state stressed that Maslikhats (local executive bodies) and controlling authorities have to monitor distribution of the money allocated for the stated programs.
