Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s strong commitment to its strategic partnership with China during a meeting with Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee, according to Akorda.
Tokayev emphasized that the 'eternal comprehensive strategic partnership' between Kazakhstan and China is on an upward trajectory and focused on the future.
“Our solid ties today serve as a model of mutually beneficial and effective interstate cooperation, rooted in everlasting friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership. We value this relationship and are taking all necessary steps to further strengthen comprehensive cooperation with the People’s Republic of China. I also greatly appreciate the friendly nature of our relations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of the PRC, Mr. Xi Jinping,” Tokayev said.
The President expressed confidence that the upcoming visit of President Xi to Astana in June, for the second China–Central Asia summit, will mark new milestones in strategic cooperation.
Tokayev also emphasized the alignment of Kazakhstan and China’s positions within multilateral frameworks and voiced support for President Xi’s global initiatives aimed at building a just international order based on the principles of international law and the UN Charter.
He reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s unwavering commitment to the 'One China' policy.
In response, Liu Jianchao conveyed warm greetings from President Xi Jinping and noted that Beijing considers Kazakhstan a strategic priority in its foreign policy, with a focus on deepening the long-term partnership.
The two sides also explored avenues for boosting cooperation in trade, investment, and cultural exchange. President Tokayev highlighted significant opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and launching major investment projects in transportation, logistics, energy, and artificial intelligence.
