Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev commented Kazakhstan’s big victory shortly after results of the voting of the International Exhibitions Bureau were announced on November 22, Tengrinews.kz reports from Paris. “I am very happy to say that it has just turned out that we have achieved another big victory for our country,” Nursultan Nazarbayev told Kazakhstan journalists several minutes after announcement of the voting results. “We received a majority of the votes: 103 votes out of 148 participating countries. We won over Liège. Kazakhstan has received another acknowledgement among these 150 states as a country fit for hosting of such a large scale event,” President said. Kazakhstan President stressed that Kazakhstan will be visited by representatives of over 100 countries during the exhibition. “They will be building their pavilions for this exhibition. The main load falls on us, of course, but everything (that is constructed for the exhibition) will stay in our country. We will build and equip the exhibition with modern technologies. This will be a very beautiful facility, one of the best brands of our capital,” President stressed. Kazakhstan’s delegation led by President Nazarbayev that presented Astana as a candidate for hosting the global fair before the voting is very pleased with the victory. Head of the Presidential Administration Karim Massimov, Astana’s Akim (Mayor) Imangali Tasmagambetov and deputy Prime-Minister Kairat Kelimbetov are not hiding their joy sharing the good news. The International Exhibitions Bureau will hold a reception in Gabriel pavilion to honor the winning country.
