U.S. Navy Secretary visited Kazakhstan

U.S. Navy Secretary Ray Mabus visited Kazakhstan on June 9-11, the website of the U.S. Embassy to Kazakhstan writes. The high-ranking militaryman met with Kazakhstan Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov and Kazkahstan Environmental Protection Minister Nurlan Kapparov “to discuss Kazakhstan's plans on ensuring security and development of emergency response capabilities at the Caspian Sea”. According to Kazakhstan Defense Ministry, Adilbek Dzhaksybekov noted in a meeting with Mabus that “Kazakhstan and the U.S. have established strategic partnership relationships”. After the visit to Kazakhstan U.S. Navy Secretary left for consultations in Turkmenistan. Ray Mabus is the 75th Navy Secretary of the United States. He was appointed in Juny 18, 2009. Earlier he served as the Governor of Mississippi and U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. He also served as a navy officer.
