US congressmen have highly valued President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s efforts towards stabilization of the situation in Ukraine and Afghanistan, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
US congressmen have highly valued President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s efforts towards stabilization of the situation in Ukraine and Afghanistan, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerlan Idrissov met with House Representatives Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) and Gergory Meeks (D-NY).
The officials discussed positive cooperation between the US and Kazakhstan in nonproliferation and ensuring security in the region, in particular stabilization in Afghanistan. The congressmen and the Kazakh Minister also dwelt on the situation in Ukraine.
“The congressman highly appreciated President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s efforts towards stabilization of the situation in these countries, and in particular, thanked the President for contributing to rehab of Afghanistan and establishing a dialogue to solve the Ukrainian crisis,” the press office of the Ministry reported.
Congressmen Rohrabacher and Meeks expressed support of Kazakhstan’s accession to the WTO and to the country’s economic development strategy.
A number of the US businessmen arrived to Kazakhstan along with the congressmen to offer cooperation in non-extractive sectors.
Earlier, President Nazarbayev met with Representatives Rohrabacher and Meeks in Borovoe, Akmolinsk Oblast, to discuss trade and economic ties between Kazakhstan and the United States.
The meetings were reported to have positively affected strategic partnership between the countries.
