U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan Kenneth J. Fairfax disclosed the number of the embassy’s employees during his lecture at Kazakhstan President’s Academy of State Management, Tengrinews.kz reports. “I think there are around 120 Americans and 300-400 Kazakhstan citizens working in the U.S. embassy and consulate in Kazakhstan,” he said. This number of employees is justified by the large-scale regional tasks of the American mission here. This number of employees is considered a large number even for the U.S. Department of State. “The thing is that the majority of what we do here is regional work, as Kazakhstan is the center of this region,” the diplomat said.
