President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko sees a great potential for an increase of goods turnover between Kazakhstan and Ukraine, Tengrinews reports.
Poroshenko met with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev in Minsk.
“I know you determination (to resolve the Ukrainian crisis), I am grateful to you for the firm action to support Ukraine's efforts to retain sovereignty and territorial integrity. For you Ukraine is not a foreign country. I remember meeting with you in Dnepropetrovsk, near the university you graduated from. You are remembered, valued and loved in Ukraine,” Poroshenko told Nazarbayev at the meeting.
In September, according to the Ukrainian President, a meeting of an intergovernmental commission is scheduled to take place. The parties are eager to discuss economic cooperation and way to remove the barriers hindering an increase of the goods turnover. “We are interested in it and we have a great potential. In a couple days we will be able to continue our discussion in Ankara (presidential residence in Kazakhstan),” the Ukrainian president said.
After his visit to Minsk, the President of Kazakhstan departed for Turkey with an official visit.
