Trump invites Tokayev to Washington: what was discussed at Akorda

Tengrinews.kz — Special Representative of the U.S. President for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor delivered a personal message from Donald Trump to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Akorda reports.

Gor emphasized the strategic importance of Central Asia in U.S. foreign policy and noted that the upcoming meeting in Washington would help elevate Kazakh-American relations to a new level.

During the talks, the sides discussed mutually beneficial cooperation in energy, critical minerals, digitalization, transport, and logistics. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues.

“The forthcoming summit in the C5+1 format will help define key priorities for long-term cooperation,” — Tokayev said, expressing gratitude to President Donald Trump for the invitation.

The Kazakh leader also reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening trade, economic, and investment ties with the United States.

Earlier, the Akorda press service reported that the upcoming C5+1 Summit in Washington will focus on expanding strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States, as well as enhancing regional security and connectivity.
