Tengrinews.kz – US President Donald Trump has invited President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to attend the G20 summit, which will be held in Miami next year.
The White House leader wrote about this on Tuesday, December 23, on his page on the social network Truth Social.
Trump noted that he had a “wonderful” phone conversation with Tokayev earlier that day. According to him, the two leaders discussed the importance of achieving peace in ongoing conflicts, as well as expanding trade and cooperation between their countries.
The US President said that relations with Kazakhstan are “spectacular”.
Recalling that the United States will host the G20 summit next year, Trump said he would send an invitation to the Kazakh leader to take part "at this very important event” as a guest.
“Which will take place in Miami,” he added.
Earlier on Tuesday, Akorda’s press service reported a lengthy phone conversation between Tokayev and Trump.
According to the Kazakh side, the Head of State reaffirmed his commitment to the full implementation of the agreements reached during his visit to Washington in November this year.
The President of Kazakhstan emphasized the complexity of resolving the conflict in Ukraine, where the territorial issue plays a dominant role and requires compromises from both sides, taking into account the real situation “on the ground.”
Tokayev also highlighted the outstanding leadership qualities of the US President, which he said made it possible to end a number of international military conflicts and achieve positive results in strengthening the United States’ domestic potential.
In conclusion, Tokayev invited Trump to visit Kazakhstan at a time convenient for him and expressed confidence that such a visit would be historic.
