Tengrinews.kz – President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Akorda press service reports.
Tokayev personally greeted the Azerbaijani leader upon his arrival at Astana International Airport.
Photos released by the Presidential Press Service show the two heads of state at the welcoming ceremony.
On October 21, the presidents of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are set to hold bilateral talks and take part in the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council between the two countries.
During their last meeting in July 2024, held in Astana, the leaders discussed joint projects in investment, industry, energy, transport, and logistics, emphasizing the importance of efficient development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
Aliyev expressed gratitude to Tokayev for the warm reception and reaffirmed Baku’s commitment to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with Astana across all areas of bilateral relations.
