Tokayev: Transparency can only be achieved through digitalization

Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called for the accelerated introduction of digital technologies in agriculture, Akorda’s press service reported.

During a meeting with farmers in the Zerenda district of Akmola Region, Tokayev emphasized the need to fully unlock the potential of livestock farming.

“A program for the development of animal husbandry will be prepared by the end of the year. This document will make it possible to access concessional funding for long periods. We can ensure transparency and efficiency in all sectors of the economy only through full digitalization. I highlighted this in my Address. It is necessary to speed up the introduction of digital technologies in agriculture. To track processes in crop production and livestock farming, digital approaches must be used. Cooperation with the IT sector is crucial in this work,” the President said.

He reminded that significant budgetary funds are allocated to support agriculture.

“Therefore, every project and every initiative must deliver clear results and contribute positively to the sector. The state always supports honest farmers. I pay special attention to agriculture, and this sector will remain under my personal control. As the saying goes, ‘A burden shared is a burden lightened.’ I am confident that together we will complete this important campaign on time and successfully,” Tokayev added.

The President noted that he had traveled to Akmola Region specifically to monitor the progress of the harvest and stressed the importance of completing fieldwork on schedule.

Earlier, in his September 8 Address to the Nation, Tokayev said the focus should be on developing agro-hubs and logistics centers, as well as building strategic partnerships with foreign investors. He added that for progressive cooperation, domestic entrepreneurs must keep pace with modern business trends and use advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence. Tokayev instructed the government to prepare a livestock support plan and implement an effective financing mechanism for agribusiness.
