Tokayev: Time shows the correctness of our principles

Tengrinews.kz - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that time confirms the correctness of the chosen principles and strategic course, speaking at the award ceremony for officers of the security forces - winners of the UAE SWAT Challenge tournament, which was held in Dubai, according to the press service of Akorda.

As Tokayev noted, today some states, including major powers, are radically revising their approaches to foreign and domestic policy. According to him, Kazakhstan has previously called for political pragmatism and maintaining a balance between traditional and modern values.

"We have always talked about how important it is to establish Law and Order. Time shows the correctness of our principles, our strategic course. Therefore, we will continue to firmly defend national interests and follow our path, which meets the interests of our country. We are committed to our national values ​​and conduct our policy without looking back at others. We have a clear goal - to build a strong and prosperous Kazakhstan," Tokayev said.

The head of state focused on the activities of the special services and security agencies that ensure stability in the country.

"Last year, the National Security Committee (NSC) conducted more than 20 special operations to prevent crimes. Two terrorist attacks were prevented. National Guard units took an active part in eliminating the consequences of emergency situations. A lot of work is being done by the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Last year, 64 underground laboratories were liquidated. 22 thousand tons of drugs were confiscated. 7.5 thousand websites advertising drugs were blocked. Fraudsters' attempts to transfer more than two billion tenge abroad were stopped. Over the past three years, about 8 thousand units of weapons and ammunition have been identified. There are many such examples. Thousands of employees of special agencies stand guard over the sovereignty of the state and the safety of citizens. Our soldiers are always true to their oath to the Motherland," Tokayev emphasized.

At the end of his speech, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished the officers success and then presented them with state awards.
