Tengrinews.kz – The official program of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit to Moscow continued with a state reception hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Faceted Chamber of the Kremlin.
In his speech, Tokayev emphasized the historical bond between Kazakhstan and Russia, saying it stands as proof of enduring unity.
“In difficult times, we stood side by side, supporting one another. Together we endured trials, together we achieved the Great Victory — the one we still hold sacred in our hearts. The wisdom of many centuries preserves a Kazakh saying, ‘Құдай қосқан көрші,’ which translates as ‘a neighbor given by God.’ This is what Russia is for Kazakhstan,” the president said.
Putin, in turn, highlighted Kazakhstan’s importance to Russia.
“For Russia, Kazakhstan is an ally, a strategic partner, and a good neighbor with whom we build diverse and equal relations based on friendship, mutual trust, and respect,” he stated.
Earlier in the day, the two leaders held talks in Moscow, discussing a wide range of issues related to political, economic, investment, and humanitarian cooperation.
