Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received the credentials of the ambassadors of the United States and Bulgaria, the presidential press service reported.

The credential ceremony took place at Akorda, where U.S. Ambassador Julie Stufft and Bulgarian Ambassador Georgi Vodenski formally presented their documents to the President of Kazakhstan.

Addressing the Bulgarian ambassador, Tokayev conveyed his greetings to Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, noting that Radev’s visit to Kazakhstan last year gave a strong boost to bilateral relations.

“We are interested in further cooperation with your wonderful country. We will do everything possible to expand the scope of our partnership, both politically and economically,” Tokayev said.

Speaking about Kazakh–U.S. relations, the President recalled the importance and success of his visit to the United States in November last year.

“We had a friendly and at the same time substantive conversation with President Donald Trump. More recently, we held a productive phone call on many issues related to our bilateral cooperation. I am grateful for the invitation to take part in the G20 summit, which will be held in the United States later this year. We will do everything possible to maintain and strengthen our strategic partnership across many areas,” Tokayev said.

The President congratulated both ambassadors on the official start of their diplomatic missions and conveyed his best wishes to the leaders of their respective countries.

For context, former U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan Daniel Rosenblum stepped down in December 2024 upon retirement after nearly 28 years of service at the U.S. State Department.

In October 2025, the U.S. Senate approved Julie Stufft’s appointment as ambassador to Kazakhstan.
