Tengrinews.kz – President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, proposed that Kazakhstan and Russia move towards creating joint grain deep processing clusters.
According to the press service of Akorda, Tokayev made this statement while speaking at the second "Central Asia – Russia" summit in Dushanbe.
In his address, Tokayev highlighted the significant prospects for joint activities in agriculture.
"Positive results are already evident, but much greater effect can be achieved by focusing on joint innovation implementation. This involves the creation of agrotechnological startups, wide application of precision farming technologies, development of modern agrologistics platforms, and the formation of competence centers, including those utilizing artificial intelligence," he explained.
The President reminded that Russia is the world’s largest producer and supplier of grain. Kazakhstan is also one of the world leaders in this regard.
"Given our immense potential in this sector, we propose to consider the creation of joint deep grain processing clusters. This will allow us to produce not only wheat and flour but also high-value-added products," Tokayev said.
The President is confident that the parties should adopt a strategic vision for transforming the agro-industrial complex into a high-tech sector, while avoiding direct competition in external markets.
Overall, the synergy between Central Asia’s potential and Russia’s economic capabilities can significantly enrich the content of our multi-faceted cooperation, he emphasized.
