The head of state welcomed Gilbert Houngbo, emphasizing the importance of his visit for strengthening cooperation with the ILO and advancing social justice on a global scale.
"We are building a Just Kazakhstan, which aligns with your initiatives on social justice. The ILO's mission to ensure a fair social contract and promote workers' rights is extremely important. Kazakhstan has ratified 25 key ILO conventions, and this work will continue," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President also spoke about the country's reforms aimed at improving social welfare, ensuring the rule of law, and protecting human rights.
Gilbert Houngbo praised Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's reforms in building a Just Kazakhstan and highlighted the country's leading role in advancing ILO goals.
"Your country is actively working to improve social and labor conditions, which supports the initiatives of our global coalition for social justice," emphasized the Director-General.
The interlocutors agreed to further strengthen cooperation to enhance Kazakhstan's social policy and develop a mutually beneficial partnership with the ILO.
Also Kazakh President met with the UN Under-Secretary General.
