Tokayev meets Georgian Prime Minister in Ashgabat

Tokayev emphasized that Georgia remains a reliable partner for Kazakhstan in the South Caucasus.

He noted the value of longstanding cooperation based on strong ties of friendship and historical proximity between the two nations. Both leaders confirmed the continued development of political dialogue, as well as economic and humanitarian relations. They discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues.

In this context, Tokayev highlighted significant potential for expanding Kazakhstan’s contacts with Georgia in the transport-logistics and trade-economic sectors.

On December 11, Tokayev arrived in Ashgabat to participate in a forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust.

In February of this year, President Tokayev met with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Astana. At that time, Tokayev noted Georgia's dynamic progress, highlighting significant reforms and impressive economic growth of 9.4%.

Tokayev highly praised the comprehensive development of Kazakh-Georgian relations, emphasizing that Georgia is a reliable partner for Kazakhstan in the Caucasus region, with deep historical and friendly ties.

“Kazakhstan and Georgia effectively cooperate at various levels, including between parliaments, governments, and state institutions,” Tokayev had said earlier.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Kobakhidze invited President Tokayev to visit Georgia.
