Tokayev welcomed the emerging progress in negotiations on the settlement of the situation in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of continuing political and diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching sustainable agreements.
At the same time, the President of Kazakhstan condemned the attempted attack on the state residence of the President of the Russian Federation, noting that such actions do not contribute to advancing the peace process or finding a political solution to the conflict.
In conclusion, the presidents exchanged New Year greetings, wishing prosperity and well-being to the peoples of both countries.
Earlier, Tokayev held a meeting with Putin in St. Petersburg. During the talks, the President of Kazakhstan noted that the program of his stay as part of the traditional pre-New Year meetings in the city had been well thought out and eventful.
