Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has raised concerns over the use of electric scooters in Kazakhstan, stressing the need for stricter regulation to ensure public safety. He addressed the issue during his annual Address to the Nation.

“Attention must also be paid to electric scooters, a topic that has been widely discussed in society. Two years ago, amendments were made to the law to restrict movement on pedestrian paths. However, the situation in public places has not changed significantly, and citizens still face danger. Legislative amendments regulating this area have already been prepared and must be adopted without delay,” Tokayev said.

The Head of State underlined that ensuring the safety of citizens should remain a top priority.

“The life of every citizen, every child, is priceless, and in this matter there can be no small details. Ultimately, these are important steps towards building a safer Kazakhstan,” he concluded.
