Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Beijing by high-speed train from Tianjin, where he was welcomed with an official ceremony, the Akorda press service reported.

Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Beijing by high-speed train from Tianjin, where he was welcomed with an official ceremony, the Akorda press service reported.

On the platform, Tokayev was greeted with flowers as children dressed in red and yellow waved the flags of China and Kazakhstan.

A black official car decorated with the two countries’ flags stood ready by the train.

During his stay in Beijing, Tokayev will take part in the Kazakhstan-China Business Council meeting and hold talks with the heads of major Chinese companies. Following these meetings, more than 70 agreements worth over $15 billion are expected to be signed, bringing investments into Kazakhstan’s economy and creating new jobs.

The President will also attend the opening ceremony of the Kazakhstan Cultural Center.

Tokayev arrived in Tianjin on August 30 to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping the same day. On September 1, he addressed the SCO and “SCO Plus” summits.
