Tengrinews.kz - Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Kazan, according to a message from the Akorda.

The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, arrived in Kazan for a working visit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin to participate in the 16th BRICS Heads of State Summit.

During the visit, the President of Kazakhstan will hold several bilateral meetings and also speak at the plenary session of BRICS in the "outreach"/"BRICS+" format.

Tokayev received proposals on Kazakhstan joining BRICS

Earlier, Berik Uali, Advisor and Press Secretary of the President, mentioned that proposals for Kazakhstan's membership in BRICS had been received. Uali noted that these proposals are being carefully considered by the Head of State and analyzed by relevant agencies regarding Kazakhstan's national interests.
