The State-Business Partnership Congress called Attracting private investment for development of public services in Kazakhstan will be held in Astana on May 22 as part of the 5th Astana Economic Forum, Tengrinews.kz reports. The purpose of the congress organized by Kazakhstan Center of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is to discuss the modern potential of the Center and practical measures of legislative development of the partnership mechanisms in Kazakhstan economy. The Congress will be attended by the world leading experts in economy and finance. Noble prize winner in economics in 2007 Eric Maskin, former Lord Mayor of London John Stuttard, South Korean Ambassador of International Economy and Trade Lee Youn Ho will be among the speakers at the Congress. Director of Urban Development and Water Division in Central and West Asia Department of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Anand Chiplunkar, Chief of Cooperation and Partnership Section of the UN Economic Commission for Europe Geoffrey Hamilton and President of Japan PFI/PPP Association Kazuo Ueda will also deliver speeches at the Congress. The Congress will also include signing of a range of trilateral memorandums of understanding: 1. Between Kazakhstan National Center for Healthcare Development and SNC Lavalin (Canada) 2. Between the Center of Infrastructure Projects of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (national railroad company) and AG Group (Portugal) 3. Between Kazakhstan Center for Modernization and Development of Housing and Utilities and Witteveen+Bos (the Netherlands) 4. Between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
