Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar held extended talks with the participation of official delegations from both countries, citing Akorda.

Welcoming the Slovenian delegation, President Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with Slovenia, describing it as a reliable and time-tested partner in Europe.

"Your visit is extremely important in terms of giving additional impetus to the development of our cooperation. We have just had a very substantive discussion on many issues concerning the international situation. We reaffirmed our shared commitment to achieving positive results in the field of mutual cooperation. We will make every effort to achieve concrete and practical results," Tokayev said.

The Kazakh President outlined promising areas for bilateral cooperation, emphasizing his commitment to creating favorable conditions for Slovenian businesses in Kazakhstan, including transparent regulations, investment protection, and economic diversification.

Tokayev also highlighted the significance of the Kazakhstan-Slovenia business forum in Astana, aimed at further expanding trade and investment ties between the two countries.

In response, President Natasa Pirc Musar expressed her gratitude to President Tokayev for the warm welcome in Astana.

"This visit is aimed at deepening economic cooperation, a goal shared by both of our countries. We have significant potential for growth, and I am confident that we can achieve even more. The volume of trade between our countries has been increasing every year. As you mentioned, we have reached an investment volume of $200 million, but the opportunities are much greater. That is why I am very pleased to be in Astana, accompanied by a representative business delegation, which includes representatives from 25 leading Slovenian companies," said Pirc Musar.

Discussions on trade, investment, and technology

The sides discussed a wide range of cooperation issues in promising sectors such as trade, investment, transport and logistics, critical minerals, digitalization and artificial intelligence, healthcare, and tourism.

Earlier, Akorda released footage from the official welcoming ceremony for the Slovenian President at the presidential residence.
