Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev warned that indifference toward one’s own country amid wars, conflicts, and global instability could lead to grave consequences, citing Akorda.
"Serving as a soldier is a high honor, and everyone who has served honorably in the Armed Forces should enjoy the respect and recognition of our society. Together, we will ensure that parents are proud of their sons and daughters who have chosen the military path. In other words, active, responsible patriotism means conscientious work in all areas, including military service," the Head of State said during his speech at the 12th "Aibyn" International Youth Military-Patriotic Gathering.
Tokayev emphasized that respect for state symbols and civic responsibility must become the foundation of every young person's worldview.
"In today’s world, where wars rage, military conflicts erupt, sanctions are imposed on nations, and the global environment becomes increasingly unpredictable, indifference toward one’s own country can result in severe consequences for ourselves and our citizens," the President stated.
Earlier, Tokayev announced that in Kazakhstan, the three main stages of military service — conscription, taking the oath, and discharge — will be conducted in a new format.
