President of Palestine thanks Tokayev for support

Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a phone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, citing a statement from Akorda.

During the conversation, the two presidents emphasized the importance of further developing the relationship between Kazakhstan and Palestine, which is based on friendship, mutual respect, and support.

The prospects for strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade, economic, and cultural cooperation, as well as working together within multilateral structures, were discussed. The leaders also exchanged views on current international issues, including the situation in the Middle East.

President Tokayev reiterated Kazakhstan’s support for international efforts to establish lasting peace and stability in the region, based on the “two-state solution” formula.

“The President of Palestine expressed his deep gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his unwavering support of his country and people, and highlighted Kazakhstan’s important role in strengthening global stability and security. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited Mahmoud Abbas to visit Astana at his convenience,” the statement from Akorda said.

On December 2, in Astana, President Tokayev met with the Chief Justice of Palestine and Presidential Adviser on Religious Affairs, Mahmoud al-Habbash. Tokayev noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Kazakhstan’s cooperation with Palestine has been based on friendship, mutual support, and respect.

As Tokayev emphasized, Kazakhstan consistently supports international initiatives aimed at recognizing Palestine as a full member of the international community.

Mahmoud al-Habbash, delivering a personal message from President Mahmoud Abbas, expressed gratitude for Kazakhstan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their aspirations for a peaceful and prosperous future.
