The country’s newly appointed PM Serik Akhmetov has delimitated powers and duties of Vice PMs, KazTag Agency reports, citing the PM’s Press Service. Vice PM Krymbek Kusherbayev will be responsible for the country’s regions development. Besides, he will be overseeing agriculture sector issues, land and water-related issues, environment protection and effective use of natural resources; construction and modernization of residential housing, transport infrastructure and logistics issues. Vice PM Erbol Orynbayev will be overseeing education, scientific research, healthcare, social safety network issues, culture, sports, and religion. Vice PM Kairat Kelimbetov will be responsible for macroeconomic policy, budgeting policy, management of the government-owned assets. Besides, he will be in charge of tax and customs policies. Vice PM Aset Issekeshev will be overseeing the State-run Program of Accelerated Industrial Development Program for 2010-2014 and efforts to boost the share of domestically produced goods and services in large-scaled industrial projects. He will be in charge of developing industrial production, technology and innovations, and of attracting foreign investments. The PM will be in charge of strategic issues of the country’s economic, financial and fiscal policies, the country’s budget, inter-state relations and international cooperation, attraction of foreign investors and enhancement of the investment climate.
