Nursultan Nazarbayev has suggested that the next Russian-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum is held in Atyrau, in Kazakhstan's west, Tengrinews reports. “I propose to focus the next forum on Innovations in Energy and hold it in Atyrau in 2014,” said Nazarbayev at the 10th Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The President of Kazakhstan noted that amid the rapid development of high technologies, it is important to give a thought to their application in the hydrocarbons development industry. "While developing new industries, we must not forget about the resource base that generates funding for these changes. Therefore it is strategically important for us to focus on the modernization of traditional commodity sectors. They say that we are living on raw materials and mineral resources.
