Non-extraction industries to double by 2025 and triple by 2040: President Nazarbayev

The share of the non-extraction industries in the Kazakhstan’s economy should be doubled by 2025 and tripled by 2040, President Nazarbayev stated today when speaking at a solemn meeting to celebrate the 21th anniversary of the nation’s independence. “The national industrialization program should be expanded. The first five-year-stage of the Program of Accelerated Industrial Innovation Development will be completed in two years’ time. Everyone is aware that without a powerful industrial sector and innovations, no nation has a future. This means we need to be focused on raising a generation of technology-savvy specialists. I commission the Government to work out a detailed plan of the following stage of industrialization efforts”.“In 2012 Kazakhstan will be numbered among the top 50 nations in the world in terms of its GDP”, President said.
