President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev will visit Turkmenistan this Fall, Tengrinews reports citing the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerlan Idrissov.
Idrissov discussed the upcoming official visit of the Kazakhstani President with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who arrived to Kazakhstan on an official visit for the first time.
“I am very pleased with the results of our negotiations (…). Thorough preparation for the visit of the Kazakhstani President to Turkmenistan this year, which will be conducted in response to a successful visit of the Turkmen President last year was the key issue on our agenda,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said.
President Nazarbayev and President Berdimuhamedow will discuss development of trade and economic ties as well as transport, logistics and regional cooperation. “We are expecting great results from the visit of our President. It is expected that during this visit, the completion of our region's largest transport project would be announced. This project will be beneficial not only for our country, but to the region and the world in general,” Idrissov said.
In turn, Minister Meredov thanked his Kazakh counterpart for their cooperation in preparation for Nazarbayev’s upcoming visit to Turkmenistan. “I am sure that this visit will mark another important historical stage in strengthening friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan,” Meredov said.
