President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has discussed partnership in trade and economy with the President of Iran Hassan Rouhani, Tengrinews reports citing the official website of Akorda.
The presidents discussing prioritized sectors of the partnership between Iran and Kazakhstan, acknowledged the high level of political dialogue between the two countries and their productive cooperation in the framework of international organizations. Nazarbayev and Rouhani touched upon expansion of trade and investment cooperation of Kazakhstan and Iran.
“The President of Iran expressed confidence that relationship between the countries based on centuries long ties of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation would effectively serve the interests of the two allied nations,” the press office said.
Hassan Rouhani congratulated Nazarbayev on the victory at the Presidential Election.
Nazarbayev last met Rouhani in September 2014 in Astana. During the meeting, the Presidents discussed the nuclear issue in Iran.
“Kazakhstan views Iran as a major foreign partner and a peaceful neighbor on the shores of the Caspian Sea. We are confident you will find a solution to Iran's big problem, the nuclear program issue, and reach an agreement. This will have a positive impact on Iran’s economic development and our bilateral relations,” President Nazarbayev said.
