President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashanko, President of Belarus, in Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the official website of the Kazakh President.
The presidents will discuss strengthening of trade and economic relations between the three countries. In addition, the Presidents will touch upon global economic trends and the situation in Ukraine.
Presidents Putin and Lukashenko confirmed their intention to come to Kazakhstan for the meeting during a phone call with Nazarbayev.
Initially, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Belarus Yergali Bulegenov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makey discussed the possible meeting between presidents of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus in Astana in February 2015. They focused on international cooperation and relations within the EEU and CIS.
The meeting was scheduled for March 13, but was postponed to an unspecified day earlier today. "Indeed the leaders of the three countries decided to postpone the planned meeting in Astana for several days," confirmed Dmitri Peskov, press-secretary of Vladimir Putin.
