Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev promised to work with renewed vigor and make Kazakhstan one of the 30 most developed countries in the world in his speech at the ceremony of announcing the results of the exit polls that point to his overwhelming victory, aTengrinews correspondent reports citing the press service of Akorda.

The President drew attention to the historical significance of this election. He thanked Kazakhstanis and said that there were all the prerequisites for our country to successfully achieve its ambitious goals. "We have qualified personnel, sufficient financial resources, political stability, unity and friendship of the people. We will carry out the tasks set in the industrialization program Nurly Zhol, we will make sure Kazakhstan joins the 30 most developed countries of the world, improving the life of Kazakhstanis," Nazarbayev said.

The President stressed that the citizens of the country once again supported the ongoing work: "Without such public confidence, it would have been hard to accomplish all the goals we set. The record high turnout in the election demonstrates the unity of Kazakhstani people, their desire to live in a stable country and their support to programs that I offered. All this behooves working with renewed vigor for the future and prosperity of our country."

Nazarbayev expressed his gratitude to all the people of Kazakhstan. "I am grateful to every citizen, every family for the trust given to me during the development of the country's independence, including the support in this election as well. The idea of holding early presidential election belonged to the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. This decision was supported by Kazakhstanis. I want to thank Nur Otan party for nominating me. I am also grateful to the national public headquarters. Its representatives have traveled all over the country, met with people to explain the national policies. I express my gratitude to all my agents and activists," he said.

He also said that the elections were held in compliance with the law. "Foreign observers and journalists came to our country to observe. Kazakhstan demonstrated to the international community its high political culture and democracy, thereby raising its standing before the whole world to another level," Nazarbaeyv said.

According to exit polls, the incumbent president gained 97.5% of the vote in the presidential election in Kazakhstan. 1.87% of voters chose the candidate of the Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan Turgun Syzdykov and 0.63% voted for the head of the Federation of Trade Unions Abelgazi Kusainov.
