Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with UN representatives and Nobel prize-winners during the 6th Astana Economic Forum, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s official website. The meeting was participated by Chairman of the 67th UN General Assembly Vuk Eremich, Chairman of the UN Economic and Social Security Council Nestor Osorio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Fiji and Chairman of Group 77 and China Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, Secretary General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Supachai Panitchpakdi, Deputy Secretary General of the UN and Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Europe Sven Alkalaj and senior economist and Director of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Nagesh Kumar. The meeting covered key prospects of Kazakhstan’s cooperation with United Nations' bodies. Besides, the participants discussed key aspects of Kazakhstan’s initiative to hold the Global Anti-Crisis Conference that could provide a platform for representatives of different countries to jointly discuss plans of global reforms. Participants of the meeting said that this step was timely amid the current global developments. The President expressed gratitude to the United Nations for the support and trust in holding of such an important and major event in Astana.
