Nazarbayev meets KazAtomProm's Shkolnik

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has had a meeting with Vladimir Shkolnik, Chairman of KazAtomProm, the national nuclear company of Kazakhstan, official website of Akorda (presidential administration). During the meeting Nazarbayev pointed out the significance of strengthening the national company's activities, especially in production for fuel clusters for nuclear power plants, alternative energy and rare earth products. Vladimir Shkolnik reported on KazAtomProm's strategic development and its large industrial and innovative projects to establish full nuclear fuel production chain, projects in chemical industry and renewable energy. According to the company’s Chairman, Kazakhstan is still the world leader of uranium production: it is responsible for 37% of the global production. The company is keeping up its financial stability and development pace. It successfully works on both the investment projects and its social responsibilities. It has spent more than 37 million tenge ($242 thousand) on social projects since 2010. Kazakhstan's President encouraged the company to implement innovative technologies in renewable energy and rare earth projects.
