Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev has instructed to dissolve the organization commission of the international exhibition EXPO-2017, Tengrinews.kz reports. “Analysis of the first three months of this year showed that we had already started repeating some of the mistakes of our predecessors. We have a too complicated multi-level system for EXPO management and everyone wants to be part of it. I have made one entity responsible for organization of the EXPO: Astana EXPO-2017 National Company,” the President said at the meeting on Astana development. He addressed head of Astana EXPO-2017 National Company Talgat Yermegiyayev: “I have instructed you and do not let anyone else in. You will be leading it until the end. Is that clear?” After hearing a positive response from Yermegiyayev, he continued: “The national company now has too many managers, controlling bodies, state commission, board of directors, organizational commission, and secretariat of the organizational commission. The bodies and people are just dubbing each other.” “I believe it necessary to dissolve the organizational commission. Let the corporation deal with its functions. Do you agree? It is hindering your progress. Can you work instead of the organizational commission?” the President asked Yermegiyayev. “I agree. I can,” he replied. Earlier Nazarbayev criticized preparations for the international exhibition calling them failed. Talgat Yermegiyayev was appointed chairman of the specially established Astana EXPO-2017 National Company in the beginning of January.
