Nazarbayev discussed spiritual and material issues with former Prime-Minister of Canada
Nursultan Nazarbayev met with former Prime-Minister of Canada Jean Chretien, who arrived in Astana for participation in the 4th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President’s press-service.
“Your participation in the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions is very important for us. Our trade and economic relations with Canada are growing every year. Investment of Canadian companies to Kazakhstan stand at $5 billion. Many joint companies, especially in agriculture, are opening in our country,” Nazarbayev said.
“I have arrive today for participation in the Congress of World and Traditional Religions. I consider the dialog between religions very important. Such meetings are necessary not only for ensuring stability and peace in the country, but also for establishing friendship between nations. In my opinion, the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions is very helpful and highly important amid the current fast-moving globalization,” former Prime-Minister of Canada told the President and reminded that that was his sixth visit to Kazakhstan.
Nursultan Nazarbayev and Jean Chretien discussed the agenda of the coming forum and bilateral cooperation in trade and economy, investments, scientific development and culture.
