Nazarbayev talked about the necessity to increase social responsibilities of the companies, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President as saying at the first meeting of the Management Council of Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund. "The tasks related to the instability of the global economy come to the fore these days. The expected crisis and negative trends in the global financial system require adjustment of the country's objectives. It is important to continue systematic modernization of the companies and increase their social responsibilities," Kazakhstan President said. The meeting covered the Fund's Development Strategy until 2022. Nursultan Nazarbayev reminded that Samruk-Kazyna was established based on the international practice of the state property consolidation and was driven by the necessity to improve the state assets management and corporate management and create good conditions for the further economic growth in the country. However, the global financial crisis, the President said, brought in certain corrections into the Fund's activities and it was forced to deal with such non-core directions as stabilization of financial and economic situation in Kazakhstan. "However, we have to go back to implementation of the initial strategic goals and objectives set at its establishment. I think that the Fund and the companies in its structure have to be the main drives of Kazakhstan's economy and actively participate in implementation of the State Program of Accelerated Industrial-Innovative Development of Kazakhstan," Nazarbayev noted.
