President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has awarded 32 individuals with state awards in Astana on December 13, Tengrinews reports citing Akorda.
In the wake of the Independence Day in Kazakhstan on December 16, lawmakers, athletes, military personnel and government officials were awarded the state awards for significant contribution in the development of Kazakhstan.
English architect Norman Foster was awarded the State Peace and Progress Award of Kazakhstan by President Nazarbayev for his outstanding contribution into the development of architecture of Kazakhstan, and strengthening peace, friendship and mutual understanding between nations. Foster is the mastermind behind the Pyramid of Peace and Accord, the biggest tent in the world Khan-Shatyr and the Library of the First President of Kazakhstan in Astana.

Previously, Foster was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the Prince of Asturias Award and the AIA Gold Medal.
